We arrived here in Cuernavaca, Mexico exactly six months ago which required a big celebration at one of our favorite restaurants, Los Colorines. There have been plenty of ups and downs since we arrived, but Scriptures have consistently been our soul anchors. Here are a few specific ones. We encourage you to “walk in our shoes” as you read these Scriptures thinking about what they would mean to us.
"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous and successful. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
“The Lord is my shepherd I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:1-3
“Delight yourself in the LORD; and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit you way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noon day sun.” Psalm 37:4-6
“Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:12
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.” Psalm 19:1-3
“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, and the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” Habakkuk 3:17-18
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
