Sunday Morning Visit – A Photo Journal
We love our church here in Cuernavaca. The people are kind and have a sweet spirit. It’s in a great location with lots people in the surrounding area. (As a matter of fact we plan to set up a lemonade stand at a nearby market soon and give it out free in the name of Jesus.) The pastor is a man who seeks the face of God and teaches His word faithfully. As a matter of fact his whole family has been a huge encouragement to us. Two of his children are in the Youth Group and two others stayed in our home while we were away for the holidays. So, anyway, thought you might be interested in a short tour of a Sunday Morning Meeting.

Great and insightful photos. You know what I like best? Aside from the really good looking family photo. The pictures of your church. It love the simplicity. The older I get the more I seem to crave it.
Can you imagine how different things would be if churches in America could be satisfied with such simplicity and funnel our funds towards doing the Lord's work instead of aesthetics ? Missionaries wouldn't have to go out for months or even years to get money. Imagine how well we could meet the needs of those within the body of Christ. There would never been anyone who desperately needed a dentist but couldn't afford it. Or a senior citizen who only took their medications every other day or not at all because they couldn't afford it. There would be plenty of Bibles to go to China or any other country. The list goes on and on.
I can't help but wonder how pleased the Lord is that we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on buildings leaving fundamental elements of His work underfunded.
What if we practiced simplicity in our personal lives? Our neighbor would not go to bed at night cold or hungry. We could repair the single mom, widow, or struggling family's car so they could get to and from work. Maybe even buy them a good used one. We could create opportunities to help people get back on their feet. Some of us could open our own Whit's End (maybe not quite so amazing) but with the same purpose.
(Small mental meander: I think we continually ask God for things for people we know that have needs, like a car, a refrigerator, glasses, a dentist, etc. When all the while we are praying WE have it within our ability to meet those needs.)
Oh, well..just a thought of the blessings that could come from choosing simplicity.
